The Madisonville/Hopkins County Economic Development Corporation announced today that Modern Welding Company of Kentucky, Inc., with operations in Madisonville, has been named Industry of the Month for August in the Economic Development Corporation’s program for enhanced focus on Existing Industry.
Operating in Madisonville since 1937, and at their current location on Nebo Road since 1977, Modern Welding is a specialty fabricator that manufacturers a wide variety of products across multiple industry sectors. Working off the basic mantra of “cut, weld, and bolt”, Modern Welding is another example of the priceless ability of Hopkins County industries to create. They have the capability to take plans from concept stage, through the planning and engineering process, all the way to project completion. Their staple products include mining equipment and building structures such as the steel skeletons for churches, schools, and malls. Another specialty of the company is material handling equipment. Modern Welding produces a diverse range of conveyor systems, loading / unloading facilities, and transfer structures for many industries that include: river transportation, coal, and power generation. Some of their large customers are Bechtel, Halliburton, General Electric, and Titan.
Safety is number one at Modern Welding. Consistently recognized nationally with the Steel Plate Fabricators Association’s highest Award of Excellence in Safety, and with a current number of 1,056 days worked without a lost time accident, the company produces top quality products at a competitive price in an uncompromisingly safe environment.
