HOPKINS COUNTY FISCAL COURT, REGULAR MEETING, GOVERNMENT CENTER

June 4, 2013 at 10:00 a.m.

The Regular Meeting of the Hopkins County Fiscal Court was held at Hopkins County Government Center and was called to order by Hopkins County Judge Executive.   Invocation was given by Shane Browning.   Roll call was taken and a quorum was established with all Magistrates being present.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES: May 21, 2013 minutes - Motion by Magistrate Beshears and seconded by Magistrate Maurice Wilson to approve the May 21, 2013 minutes. Motion carried.  

REPORT OF COUNTY ATTORNEY: Out of Town.

REPORT OF COUNTY CLERK: Nothing to report.  

REPORT OF SHERIFF: Nothing to report.  

REPORT OF JAILER: Out of town.

REPORT OF TREASURER:  A) Transfers: Motion to approve Transfers by Magistrate Larry Wilson and seconded by Magistrate Welch. Motion carried.

B) Payment of Claims General Fund in the amount of $36232.16; Road Fund in the amount of $30704.94; Jail Fund in the amount of $55444.62; LGEA Fund in the amount of $35299.49, Total all Funds $157681.21. Motion to approve by Magistrate Groves and seconded by Magistrate Toney. Motion carried.

C) Approval of Pay Rate Schedules: Motion to approve Pay Rate Schedules by Magistrate Larry Wilson and seconded by Magistrate Beshears. Motion carried.

Department Reports: None

Report of Magistrates/Committee: Building & Grounds Committee met this morning opened bids for the Fundraising Campaign for the Sports Complex – two bids were received - Strategic Development and Norman Wagoner, Attorney from Louisville, KY.

Old Courthouse Renovation - Motion to approve bid for plumbing to Prow Brothers in the amount of $5900.00. Motion to accept bid from Prow Brothers by Magistrate Toney and seconded by Magistrate Welch. Motion carried.  

Bid from Prow Brothers for Heating and Air in the amount of 7800.00. Motion to accept bid by Magistrate Toney and seconded by Magistrate Larry Wilson. Motion carried.  

Motion by Magistrate Toney and seconded by Magistrate Maurice Wilson to place ad for Asbestos removal.

Motion to continue with the Sports Complex - Phase 2B – Dirt Work by Pleasant Excavating by Magistrate Toney and seconded by Magistrate Beshears.

Old Business: None

NEW BUSINESS: A) Appointment of Hugh Offutt to Earlington Fire Protection District Board of Directors – Motion to approve the appointment by Magistrate Welch and seconded by Magistrate Groves. Motion carried.

B) Resolution 2013-3 – Festus Claybon Splash Park Project – Magistrate Larry Wilson Table to next meeting, seconded by Magistrate Toney. Motion carried.

C) Resolution 2013-4 – Kentucky Office of Homeland Security Project – (Tasers) – Motion to approve by Magistrate Beshears and seconded by Magistrate L. Wilson. Motion carried.

Registration for Storm Shelters is available on our website.   If anyone has storm shelter please register.

Magistrate Beshears announced the Summer Lunch Program will be starting in Dawson Springs.
