The Hopkins County Emergency Management Director has the responsibilities for the day-to-day emergency management programs. The Emergency Management Office cooperates with a comprehensive network of local, state, and federal Emergency Management personnel; governmental agencies, law enforcement, fire, ambulance, and other emergency personnel; private businesses; voluntary organizations; and individuals to identify potential hazards, to develop emergency plans for each potential natural and technological hazard and to apply the four phases of Emergency Management: mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery.

ARE YOU PREPARED IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY? Below are programs in place here in Hopkins County Kentucky to help our residents be prepared in case of an emergency situation.
This rapid emergency notification service called CodeRED®. The new system will distribute emergency messages via telephone to targeted areas or the entire county at a rate of 1,000 calls per minute. CodeRED® employs a one-of-a-kind Internet mapping capability for geographic targeting of calls, coupled with a high speed telephone calling system capable of delivering customized pre-recorded emergency messages directly to homes and businesses, live individuals and answering machines.
