HOPKINS COUNTY FISCAL COURT, REGULAR MEETING, GOVERNMENT CENTER
March 5, 2013 at 10:00 a.m.
The Regular Meeting of the Hopkins County Fiscal Court was held at Hopkins County Government Center and was called to order by Hopkins County Judge Executive, Donald E. Carroll. Invocation was given by County Attorney Todd P’Pool. Roll call was taken and a quorum was established with all Magistrates being present.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: A) February 19, 2013 minutes - Motion by Magistrate Beshears and seconded by Magistrate Maurice Wilson to approve the February 19, 2013 minutes. Motion carried.
REPORT OF COUNTY ATTORNEY: Nothing to report.
REPORT OF COUNTY CLERK: Nothing to report.
REPORT OF SHERIFF: Nothing to report.
REPORT OF JAILER: Approval of Inmate Classroom/Training Facility. Motion to approve by Magistrate Welch and seconded by Magistrate Groves. Motion carried.
REPORT OF TREASURER: A) Transfers: Motion to approve transfers by Magistrate Beshears and seconded by Magistrate Toney. Motion carried.
B) Payment of Claims - General Fund in the amount of $25935.45 plus Data Services of 129.90 to Card Member Services for a total of $26,065.35; Road Fund $333416.48; Jail Fund $9741.49; LGEA $27854.35; Total $397077.67.
Motion to approve Payment of Claims by Magistrate Welch and seconded by Magistrate Beshears. Motion carried.
Department Reports: None
Report of Magistrates/Committee: Magistrate Toney stated the Recreation, Buildings & Grounds Committee met on March 5, 2013 to discuss the bids received on the Roof at the Old Courthouse. Motion was made to accept the bid of R&T Contracting in the amount of $29,908.80 for the metal roof and the bid from R&T Contracting to build up the flat roof in the amount of $17,388.00 for a total of $47,296.80 contingent upon approval of building inspector by Magistrate Toney and second by Magistrate Welch. Motion carried.
Transportation Committee met to accept bids for a Tractor. Motion by Magistrate Roberts and seconded by Magistrate Larry Wilson to accept the bid of H&R Agri Power with the lowest bid of $39,500.00. Motion carried.
Old Business: None
NEW BUSINESS: A) Pauper Burial Mae Kemble. Motion to approve by Magistrate Larry Wilson and seconded by Magistrate Toney. Motion carried.
B) Appointment to Hopkins County Tourist and Convention Commission. Motion to approve appointment of Allison Reader by Magistrate Beshears and seconded by Magistrate Groves. Motion carried.
