HOPKINS COUNTY FISCAL COURT, REGULAR MEETING, GOVERNMENT CENTER
 February 19, 2013 at 10:00 a.m.

The Regular Meeting of the Hopkins County Fiscal Court was held at Hopkins County Government Center and was called to order by Hopkins County Judge Executive, Donald E. Carroll.  Invocation was given by County Attorney Todd P’Pool.   Roll call was taken and a quorum was established with all Magistrates being present

 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES: A) February 5, 2013 minutes - Motion by Magistrate Maurice Wilson and seconded by Magistrate Beshears to approve the February 5, 2013 minutes. Motion carried.  

 

B) Amended Minutes of December 4, 2012 – Motion by Magistrate Groves and seconded by Magistrate Beshears to approve the amended minutes of December 4, 2012.   Motion carried.

 

REPORT OF COUNTY ATTORNEY: Request to surplus the copy machine and use it for trade-in. Motion to approve by Magistrate Larry Wilson and seconded by Magistrate Toney.   Motion carried.

 

REPORT OF COUNTY CLERK: County Clerk Devra Steckler was out of town.

 

REPORT OF SHERIFF: Nothing to report.

 

REPORT OF JAILER: Nothing to report.

 

REPORT OF TREASURER: A) Transfers: Motion to approve transfers by Magistrate Welch and seconded by Magistrate Beshears. Motion carried.

 

B) Payment of Claims - General Fund in the amount of $18,928.17; Road Fund $224831.03; Jail Fund $59078.03; LGEA $80850.95; Total $383,788.18. Motion to approve Payment of Claims by Magistrate Larry Wilson and seconded by Magistrate Toney. Motion carried.

 

Department Reports: Mike Duncan gave a report on the Public Works Facility, Animal Shelter and Old Courthouse Renovation.

 

Report of Magistrates/Committee: Magistrate Roberts stated the Transportation Committee met on February 19, 2013 to advertise a mowing tractor for bid which would allow Road department to be more efficient; Order a Bush-hog for $7,900.00 to pursue a reverse auction of an air compressor in the new facility. Motion to purchase bush-hog for $7,900.00 and approval to bid the mower and air compressor by Magistrate Beshears and seconded by Magistrate Toney. Motion carried.

NEW BUSINESS: A) Pauper Burial Mae Kemble – Table for the next court meeting.

 

Announcements: Proclamation of Literacy Celebration Month
