FIRE DUES OPT OUT PERIOD OPENS APRIL 1, ENDS JUNE 1
Per Section 6 of Ordinance 2007-14, Hopkins County property owners may opt out of having volunteer fire department subscriber fees added to their tax bills. The annual opt out period is from April 1-June 1.
The opt-out form can be printed by going to hopkinscounty.ky.gov and clicking the “VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPT OPT-OUT FORM” link at the bottom of the page. Copies of the form will also be available outside the north door of the Hopkins County Government Center.
Due to restrictions related to COVID-19, Hopkins County Government Center is closed to in-person traffic. Property owners should mail the completed forms to Hopkins County Fiscal Court, 56 North Main Street, Madisonville, KY 42431 or fax them to (270) 821-8295. They may also be deposited in the drop box located at Government Center. Those who wish a confirmation of receipt should include a phone number on the form.
