Karol Welch, District One Magistrate

Karol Durham Welch was born in Christian County to Dorris & Margie Smith Durham.  She graduated from Earlington High School and attended Madisonville Community College.  Karol married William Welch and they were blessed with Nathan.  Nathan married Rebecca Becker and they were blessed with Siena Augusta.  Karol was elected in 1985 and has served with seven different administrations and is the senior official on the Hopkins County Fiscal Court.  Karol will have completed 25 years of service at the end of the present 2007-2010 term. She pledges, "to continue to work for our county incessantly with deep compassion, optimism, and a willingness to expedite the improvements that our great Hopkins County needs and deserves."
